Within our region, we have long supported financially and materially families with children with disabilities, interest and sports organizations, the Pelhřimov hospital and non-governmental non-profit organizations caring for people with mental and combined disabilities.

1882

Josef Hrdina, a trader in colonial goods, starts the production of rice brushes in the basement of his house

1900

In order to satisfy numerous orders from all over Austria-Hungary, J. Hrdina had to start building a new and modern factory in 1900, which was completed at the end of the same year.

1909

The “First Pelhřimov Joint-Stock Factory for Brushware and Brushes, formerly J. Hrdina” was founded as a reaction to the growing competition and the need to increase working capital

1948

The company is nationalized and incorporated into the national company Zadrev, based in Olomouc

1950

The separation of the brush companies from the national company Zadrev resulted in the establishment of the National Company United Brushing Plants with its headquarters in Pelhřimov. At the time, the brush company had 14 locations across the country

1958

Merger of Brushing Companies under United Brushing Companies n.p. Pelhřimov

1989

The post-Soviet political and economic events are also reflected in the organizational changes in the United Brushworks state enterprise Pelhřimov

1991

After 41 years, United Brushworks is converted back into a joint stock company and the state becomes the holder of all shares

1992

The company was selected for the first stage of coupon privatisation. Privatisation funds and individual physical shareholders become the owners of the previously state-owned joint stock company

90‘s

Production is being modernised, new integrated production technologies with high labour productivity are being purchased to satisfy domestic and foreign customers. As part of the development, production facilities are being built and the issue of logistics is being comprehensively addressed, including the construction of modern storage facilities. The new production technologies are capable of producing batches of 1 million units per month and more than 50% of production is exported

1998

Two major shareholders acquire a majority stake in the company, thus stabilizing ownership relations

2003

Ing. Jiří Zbrojka becomes the sole owner of the company

2008

A new dispatch warehouse was built for foreign customers. This warehouse is also used as a logistics centre for external clients. The total storage area is 3150 sqm and the racking system allows to store over 10 thousand. pallets. The total height of the warehouse is 17.5 m and the last pallet is stored at a height of 14.5 m.

2009

The company commissioned a photovoltaic power plant with a total output of 250 kW. The PV plant is located on the area of a former landfill site. I.e. the construction of the PV plant took place on industrial land, not on land intended for agricultural and other purposes. The generated EE is completely used for the company’s needs and the annual output covers on average 6-8% of the company’s total annual consumption.

2009

The premises of the pressing plant are being extended (the original area extended by 1,100 m2 ). The first FANUC 6-axis robot is installed in production, which has been implemented in a robot cell with laser marking of plastic measurements. With this project, the company was among the first to mould a polycarbonate product in conjunction with a TPE material.

2012

The third hall of the injection moulding plant was built. Presses with a clamping force of over 650 tonnes are located here. The hall has 2 floors and an area of 2450 m2.

2017

New SPOKAR DENT production facilities for the production of toothbrushes and brushes for the cosmetics industry are completed and opened. The toothbrushes are manufactured in an environment with the highest hygiene standards (sterile antibacterial environment).

The company wins the first international design awards for the SPOKAR X toothbrush ( Good Design, A Design Award, European Product Design Award ), which was designed in collaboration with renowned designer P. Novague

2018

Winning another international award for the SPOKAR X toothbrush – the prestigious German Design Award.

2020

The premium SPOKAR HOME range (broom and dustpan, dustpan and toilet set) wins the Germand Design Award for its attractive design, the quality materials used and environmentally friendly production.

The company wins the first most prestigious Red Dot design award for the SPOKAR NOVA flat brush. Ergonomics, functionality and sustainability win again.

2021

The company continues to successfully win international awards for the design of its products. This year, it wins 2 Red Dot awards for the new SPOKAR XM interdental toothbrush, whose shape allows for a comfortable hold and precise control when cleaning between the teeth. The innovative packaging of the toothbrushes with regard to ecology was also awarded.

A gas-fired cogeneration unit with a total output of 200kW has been commissioned. The company is constantly increasing its electricity consumption. renewable energy.
